CuberUp® is a cucumber powder extract, branded ingredient produced by Spanish extracts manufacturer Euromed.

It is obtained through aqueous extaction, using a proprietary process with ultra-pure water continuous extraction and tangential filtration; CuberUp® is standardized in components of which cucumber is naturally rich: immino-derivatives (≥50% imminosugars) and L-citrulline (≥2%).

This ingredient is positioned in health areas of joints well-being and mobility; CuberUp® in fact contributes to reduction of pain and improvement of joints function at low dosage, 20 mg/day. Efficacy of CuberUp® has been proved in a recently published clinical trial.

In the said RCT study, that has been conducted durig 8 weeks on 55 volunteer subjects taking 20 mg/day CuberUp® or placebo, evaluated parameters have been: pain (VAS scale), WOMAC index (that accounts for pain, stiffness and joint function) and dynamometry and functional tests have further been perfomed, on top of some biochemical analyses in plasma.

Results showed that CuberUp® is capable of significantly reducing pain and improving WOMAC index. Similar significant improvements have been also detected in functional tests (less time to complete a standardized exercise) and dynamometry measures (capability to develop more strength). Subjects that have been administered with CuberUp® also showed, at the end of the study, lower plasma levels  of IL-1β (inflammatory cytokine) and of MMP3 (marker of inflammation and cartilages degradation).
