S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine (SAMe) is a direct metabolite derived from essential aminoacid L-Methionine, naturally present in all organism’s districts. From a functional point of view the role of SAMe si to act as a donor of methyl-groups which are necessary for several biochemical reactions, including methylation of phosphatidylethanolamine to phosphatidylcholine (PC, one of the main constituents of SNC cell membranes).
SAMe is successfully used to maintain mood’s stability and to support joints function, contributing to relieving symptoms of osteoartritis and of mood disturbancies and mild depression.
